A semen analysis report can look like a wall of numbers in red and black. This free semen analysis calculator reads each value against the current WHO 2021 (6th edition) reference limits and explains, in plain English, what is within range and what is worth a closer look — including your total motile sperm count, the single number that guides your odds best. It is educational, not a diagnosis.
Semen Analysis Calculator
Enter the values from your report and I'll read each line against the current WHO 2021 reference limits — in plain English, the way I would across my desk — and work out your total motile count.
Educational only — not a diagnosis. Leave a box blank if your report doesn't list it.

This tool reads your numbers against the WHO 2021 (6th edition) lower reference limits for general understanding. These are decision limits, not a sharp fertile/infertile cut-off — and one report is never a diagnosis. Only a doctor who examines you can interpret your full picture.
How to use the calculator
- Copy the values from your semen analysis report — volume, concentration, motility, morphology and the rest.
- Type each into the matching box. Leave anything your report doesn’t list blank.
- Tap Interpret my report for a line-by-line read-out, your total motile count, and what to do next.

The WHO 2021 lower reference limits
These are the thresholds the calculator checks against. Remember they are decision limits, not a sharp fertile/infertile line — they describe the lowest 5% of men who fathered a child within a year, so falling just below one is a reason to look closer, not to despair.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a normal semen analysis result by WHO 2021?
A normal result is one where every value is at or above the WHO 2021 lower limits — volume 1.4 mL, concentration 16 million/mL, total sperm 39 million, total motility 42%, progressive 30%, vitality 54%, morphology 4%, pH 7.2, and pus cells under 1 million/mL. An all-normal report is called normozoospermia. These are decision limits, not a pass/fail mark, so one value slightly below is a reason to repeat the test, not a diagnosis.
What is the total motile sperm count (TMSC), and why does it matter?
The total motile sperm count is your semen volume multiplied by concentration and by the fraction that are moving — the real number of swimming sperm you deliver. A percentage alone can mislead: 30% motility in a large sample beats 30% in a tiny one. That is why the calculator highlights your total motile count as the headline number, because it guides your real-world odds far better than any single line.
Is this semen analysis calculator a diagnosis?
No. It interprets your numbers against the WHO 2021 reference limits for general understanding only. Semen quality swings week to week, so a single report is never a diagnosis, and the calculator cannot examine you or check the things a report can’t show. Use it to understand your report, then have it confirmed and read properly by a doctor.
